Vodou Lesson 1

The proper way to do work within the Haitian Vodou tradition

In this lesson, you will learn the *right* way to start doing your magick. There is a right way to do things and a wrong one. Doing things incorrectly can lead to failure. Failure can lead to disappointment, and can lower the confidence you have in yourself. Once you know how to do things the right way, you will be sure that you have done everything in your power to make the necessary moves towards your goal.

In this lesson, we will go through all the things that you must consider when thinking about doing your work. We will also take you through the steps necessary to prepare yourself for your work, including teaching you how to set up a working altar. On this table, which you will consecrate and respect, you will be able to do all sorts of magickal work aimed at your different goals, in order to improve your life.

Then, I will instruct you in the beginning steps of wanga work. These steps are the same for all works, and must be done in order to start any work within the Vodou tradition. When you have your foundation, you can build your house! When everything is in order, you will do the work of your choice. Lastly, you will be taught how to "shut down" the altar so that you can go about your day.

Once you have all this, you are halfway to your goal! The instructional kit includes the items necessary to set up your altar (minus the table), consecration tools, and instructions along with additional prepared altar candles that will enhance and strengthen your altar and your future work.
